1. Software activations is done only once and never needs to be reactivated
   • Unless you are re-installing from scratch you do not need to re-activate, ever!
   • Just copy the My ICE Plan folders to any computer or media and double click on the  executable that runs the prorgam. It's that simple!
2. Use the software on many computers - no special licensing - we don't care!
   • Surprised? It was designed to be portable and flexible!
   • Use My ICE Plan in a network, on many computers or just on one.
3. My ICE Plan does not use or need the Windows registry to operate! 

Have you ever installed software on one computer but needed later to run a backup on some other computer? That's impossible without having to reinstall the software. You will get nothing but the famous "missing dll / files" errors. That's because most (99.9%) of all software will register its files and other information to the Windows registry. Therefore every time the software is started, Windows looks in the registry for entries to operate the software properly. If Windows can not find files the software says it needs to operate than the software is not useable and will not run.

Imagine needing your precious information in time of a disaster and can't easily get at it because you have to use a strange computer (maybe even one in a hotel or library). You will are not be allowed to install software on someone else's computer. Even if you were able to, you would first have to install the software (if you have a copy with you) then re-activate it (if you can, many software packages are picky about this) and finally restore all of your data from a backup. This could take hours or days! These types of problems is the last thing you need after a disaster such as an earthquake, fire, tornado.

This is not a problem with My ICE Plan...

If you were using a USB drive (either an external hard drive or a thumb drive) when working with My ICE Plan or backed up your My ICE Plan folders to a USB drive then just plug that USB drive into any Windows machine, navaigate to the My ICE Plan folder and double click on the icehis executable. Vola! - you are working

Or you can just copy the software from any other backup (example a CD) to any folder of your choice on any computer and use. The idea is to be able to use the software anywhere and anytime "in case of an emergency " without the hassle of re-installing, re-activating and restoring your data.  It was designed to be extremely portable!

Note: When creating a CD Windows will mark files as "read only". Therefore remember to remove the "Read-only" attribute from the folders after you copy the data from the backup CD to your computer. To do so, from Windows explorer, right click on the My ICE Plan folder, select Properties, then uncheck "Read-only" and check "Apply changes to sub-folders" when prompted.
