The
procedure to
Importing
items (or any other data) into I.C.E. is the same as doing a manual
import of the contacts file. The steps are exactly the same except you are working
with the items file if you are importing data that was exported from another
system other than
I.C.E.
See Importing Contacts from other
programs to learn how to import your items into the
I.C.E. inventory.
Also read Restoring to learn how to restore
your items file the way it was prior to the last import session.
Note:
Some people may use the Export feature of I.C.E. as a
backup solution. If you do then please understand that there are files that are
related to others. Meaning if you export your Items inventory and have extra images
placed in the More Images tab of any item, then that data will not be
exported
because it is in a separate file called Images. You must export the Images
as well as other data files because they are all related.
Therefore if you use that "backed up" exported
data as a restore option then you should also import the exported data from the
related image file as well as the exported data from the other related files if
there were changes made to the data of those supporting files.Again this is only needed if you used the export feature of I.C.E. as a back up
method for your current inventory and now plan to use that same data to restore
data.
