To import your contacts from Outlook or Outlook
Express make use of the Pre-Configured
option (recommended).
To
import Outlook Express Contacts
In order to use the Pre-Configured option you will
need to export your contacts from Outlook Express first before using the
pre-configured csv file that comes with I.C.E. - that file is in the folder
where you
installed I.C.E. and is called OEContacts.csv
Importing using Outlook Express Contacts Steps:
- (Figure 1) Open Outlook Express and
from the File Menu select Export - Address Book.
- (Figure 2) At the Address
Export Address
Tool window select Text file "Comma Separated Values" and then hit the Export button.
- (Figure 3) At the next Export to a file window browse
to the location of where you installed ICE (example: C:\My ICE Plan
2008" and select the OEContacts.csv file. If you get a
warning that the file already exist and it will ask you if it is ok to
overwrite the file then
select Yes to overwrite the
file.
- (Figure 4) Once you have
selected the OEContacts.csv then select
Next.
- (Figure 5) At the next window (CSV
Export Window) make sure you check mark
all fields for exporting then hit the Finish button. If you get a warning that the file already
exist and it will ask you if it is ok to overwrite the file then
select Yes to overwrite the file
- At this point Outlook Express will export your contacts. Afterwards go into the I.C.E. program and select File,
Import, Pre-Configured Imports then Import Outlook Express
Contacts (from a csv text file).
- I.C.E.
will begin importing you Outlook Express contacts
from the OEContacts.csv file.
- Done
...check the import by opening the Contacts file using the Contacts button on
the I.C.E. toolbar. You can restore your Contacts to the way it was prior to
the last import. See Restoring

You will see this warning below before you being the
import. If you are running ICE over a network and others are using the file ask
them to close it 1st.
