A location is a physical address of a
building. Each location has a "nik-name" and each location has
rooms that are unique to its location. Example: Your primary
residence is 35440 Beverly Rd, Los Angeles, Ca. You can give it any nik name you
want, in this case you call it your Main Home. You also have a Vacation
home that you have nik named "Vacation Home" and it is located at 125 Lake
Rd, Lake Tahoe, Ca. You also have extra household items stored in a outside
storage facility called Public Storage
located at 789 N Hill Ave. Each of these
locations have rooms unique to its location. A room called Attic in the Main
Home and a room called Attic in your Vacation home are not the same. That is to
say that items stored in the Attic of the Main home will not be listed or
displayed or counted in any way to the room called Attic in the Vacation home.
NOTE: The nik name is used when attaching photos. Therefore special
characters \ / : ? " < > | are not allowed.
Below (image
1) is the Locations pick list
which you populate by adding a location via
the location form as shown in (images 2,3 and 4) below. You can have one image
of a location and unlimited movies
for a location and can associate a room to a movie if desired. Thus you
can take a movie of the outside of the location which you can use to describe
your location and then take a movie of each room and the items in the room and
mark each movie with a room name. Some people may prefer to only use this
method of taking an inventory. Although we recommend taking a detailed item
inventory using this method of movies can be used to quickly document all of your
items simply by taking movie clips of each room first, then create a detailed
inventory as you have time to do so.
