Inventory using TreeView

Tree View gives you a different view of your inventory. There are five ways to look at your inventory with this view. You will see it by: (to learn more about TreeView see Using TreeView and Re-Assigning many items

  1. Category - Tree View will organize the inventory by Category. When you expand the category called "Electronic Equipment" you will see everything you listed as "Electronic Equipment" under that heading.
  2. Location - Tree View will organize the inventory by Location. When you expand the location called "Living Room" you will see every thing you listed as being located in the "Living Room" under that heading.
  3. Retailer - Tree View will organize the inventory by Retailer. When you expand a retailer called "Sears" you will see every thing you listed as being purchased from "Sears" under that heading.
  4. Manufacturer - Tree View will organize the inventory by Manufacturer. When you expand a manufacturer called "Sony" you will see every thing you listed as being manufactured by "Sony" under that heading.
  5. Insurers - Tree View will organize the inventory by insurance company name. When you expand a insurance company name you will see every thing you listed as being insured by that company and policy number,

Notes:

  • You can use the buttons to expand or contract all folders.
  • You can right click in the list to expand or contract all folders as well as add and update records
  • To add a record right click over the folder name to insert a new item. You can also right click within a folder's listed items to add a new item. When using this method the heading is entered for you in the Add form. This makes it easy if you will be adding many items at one time in one category, location, retailer or manufacturer. It is one to two less field to complete.
  • To edit items right click on the highlighted item within a folder's list and select edit.
  • You also delete a record using this method. You may also double click on the item to change it as well.
  • To change the name of the folder (example: the category name) double click on the folder name or highlight it and hit the "Edit" button.
  • To add a new folder (example: add another category or location name) - move to the top of the list (example: Items by Category heading) and right click to add a new folder. In this example it would be a new category.
