The
Update Pick List Menu
will allow you to
maintain the pre-populated lists that contains the lists you see in the
menu list above. These list are referenced to the Items List (your inventory
list). Notice that each list has a shortcut
key.
What is a relational database?
Relational database
- means data from each list is related to an item once it is entered. Thus you
can not delete a category or retailer or location, etc without deleting (or changing the data)
for all item records that used that category, or other data from
one of the Pick List. Thus it eliminates the possibility of deleting for example
an item named "Sofa" from the Item Name list because it
is referenced in your inventory as you owning it. It also
means that correcting spelling errors is easier. If you correct the name in the Pick List
then every record in your Item inventory list will also be corrected. Duplicate names
are not allowed in the Pick Lists, such as having multiple entries for
example using word "Kitchen".
