Why create a home inventory?
Did you know
... that insurance companies prefer and encourage the
use of a home inventory?
Although most people do not want to take on the
chore of creating a list of everything they own, it does however make very good
sense to do so. Here are a few examples:
- In time of emergency such as a natural disaster,
fire, or theft. A home inventory can prove to be very helpful in recovering
your items by providing a detail list to the insurance company when filing a
claim.
- Additionally jogging your
memory of what you have and where you kept it.
- Moving to a new home by making sure nothing gets
forgotten during the move. Or getting a better cost from a mover.
- You may find that your possessions are worth more than you thought. Thus alerting you to increasing
your insurance coverage.
